Lead Service Designer

As the Lead Service Designer in Healthcare Education, your will be driving human-centered vision and strategy processes, own and improve a seamless end-to-end journey for Laerdal’s solutions in Healthcare Education. This might mean scoping and running design sprints, establishing and conducting design research, working with partners and end users to conduct focus groups and cocreation workshops. Being the most senior designer in the team, you will also create alignment among the rest of the designers, establish a culture of sharing insights and improving methodologies.

You bring a positive mindset, you actively include people in design processes, you have endless curiosity, you find patterns in user insights and can translate needs to tangible opportunities.
Your responsibilities
- Drive vision and strategy creation in the Healthcare Education Segment.
- Continuously improve a seamless end-to-end journey for Healthcare Education customers.
- Develop proposals for projects based on research insights and user needs.
- Scope projects and propose design processes through sprints.
- Develop design research strategies and conduct research.
- Facilitate co-creation workshops with users, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Synthesize and deliver insights with storytelling skills.
- Communicate directions, design visions, concepts visually with key stakeholders and to the overall business.
- Support team directors and product managers with designing and validating ideas and business cases.
- Drive communication and interaction between the various teams to ensure a smooth user journey across product lines, and other business units
- Continuous user research across various customers and countries
- Some travel is required
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in design or related field – human factors, interaction design, product design, service design, etc.
- 5+ years of work experience, in a relevant design position such as Design Lead / Service Designer / UX designer
- Lives and breathes design thinking, and has a proven track record of working across the various stages of the design process
- Ability to think in a systemic level, and to oversee eco-systems, and their relationships
- Balanced understanding of the business needs and customer needs
- The ability to foresee trends, understand market shifts and strategically shape innovation / improvement projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- An enthusiastic personality and an ambassador for the needs of the customer
