In your role as Service designer you will work in the Design & Solution team. Designers within this team work together with their architecture colleagues on complex issues. Design research and an ‘evidence-based’ approach are decisive in arriving at realistic solutions. The designers within the Design & Solution team believe that combining knowledge from multiple disciplines better enables them to conduct high-quality research and come to the right conclusions.

This team works agile and is part of a train: the agile release train generic portal. This train consists of a number of multidisciplinary teams that jointly plan, organize and carry out their work. They develop modern interaction using generic (digital) components that fit together perfectly and provide added value to the formulated objective for the generic portal.

As a Service designer you are (jointly) responsible for starting up projects and transferring them to executive teams and you will have to maintain an overview across multiple projects. You contribute to the development of validated insights into customer needs and identify improvements in customer journeys. You devise (together with colleagues) broad concepts and communicate them to your own teammates, the other teams in the train, stakeholders and customers. You actively use your knowledge and experience with design thinking and service design methods. You can properly estimate which parts of the method you can apply in the projects, in order to achieve the right result. Also, do you coach your colleagues in this area.

You are proactive and take the necessary initiative in your work. You also try to push the boundaries, challenge yourself to innovate and you dare to have an influence. You understand that efficiency is sometimes subordinate to effectiveness, you show ownership and contribute to the goal we stand for. Finally, you clearly see the added value in sharing your knowledge with colleagues and you also find it important to continue to develop your own craftsmanship.

A special job because…

· You play an important role in the digitization of the government.
· Your work contributes to the ease with which citizens and companies arrange their tax affairs.
