About the role
We are building our team in Gothenburg and Sweden and will double in size (and more) in the next couple of years. We already have a great team of skilled UX- and service designers, both locally in Gothenburg as well as in Malmö and Stockholm and colleagues across the Capgemini group who know everything about technology and the business side of things.
For this opportunity we’re looking for a seasoned Service Designer who is passionate about solving business problems through innovation and design thinking.
We see that this role is built upon primarily three areas (in no particular order)
- Leading & coaching teams and advising clients
You have many years of experience within service design and as such are well equipped to plan the right approach and select value adding methodologies to address business problems. You find pleasure in and get energy from coaching junior employees and contributing to their development within service design, design thinking and innovation. You can also take on part-time assignments as a senior advisor to clients, building their ways of working and capabilities within design.
You can articulate design choices and findings in compelling ways and build trust for recommended plans, analysis and next steps also with clients who don’t share your extensive knowledge in and background from design.
- Contributing to business development and building strong client relationships
Within the Capgemini group, and at Idean, we have business developers who love interacting with clients in the sales process. We hope you do too! How it typically works is that we have account managers responsible for the overall client interaction and sales, but we rely on our designers to contribute to specific proposals and build strong relationships with our clients. Our designers know which approach is best suited based on the situation, how big the team needs to be and which skills we should add.
Our lead designers (and this role is such) participate in first meetings with clients to introduce Idean and uncover client needs and problems, but also work closely with account managers and our designers to develop proposals and the approach for delivery.
- Facilitating accelerative workshops and processes
Many of our clients need a little bit of a push to understand and buy into the value of design. The honest truth is that starting off with a design sprint, a problem framing workshop, a lightning decision jam or another workshop format is usually an easier sell to start with than getting buy-in for a whole project team. It also gives us a clearer understanding of the underlying problem to address – so great for us as well! You’ll be facilitating these kinds of interactions on a regular basis and it’s great if you also enjoy having fellow designers tag along to learn from your skills (you’ll learn plenty from them back!)
