Service Designer

Do you want to contribute to change and innovation in the world’s largest humanitarian organisation? Do you want to simplify, improve and renew the way we deliver our humanitarian work? Then we need you on the team! We are now looking for a service designer for our unit for Digital Innovation at the national office in Oslo. As a service designer, you will contribute to the organization achieving its goals in volunteering, preparedness and humanitarian values. You will develop services that follow best practice in design and user experience, so that we build the right services in the right way. In this way, we meet the actual needs of those we exist for and achieve the desired effects.

Work assignments

• Lead or participate in innovation and design processes across departments and areas of focus
• Map needs, challenges and identify opportunities
• Visualize and communicate insights and develop concepts
• Take a holistic approach and ensure we focus on solving the right problems
• Sketch, design and build prototypes to test hypotheses and improve user experiences
• Collaborate closely with designers, process managers, technologists and other professionals to realize innovative solutions
• Participate in the work to further develop user-centred processes and methods, as well as contribute to training the organization in these

Qualifications

• You have a minimum of three years’ work experience with service design from innovation design processes
• Higher education in service design, or significant experience that can compensate
• Understands the interaction between strategy, technology and design and is able to elevate design to a strategic level
• Experience of working in interdisciplinary teams, preferably from complex organisations
• Has a passionate commitment to service design and design thinking as a method and mindset
• Able to communicate very well both verbally and visually, and masters the most common digital design tools
