Service Designer

About the Job:

As a Service Designer, you will use your skills as a researcher, designer, and innovator to create a vision of potential futures. This vision will allow your clients to develop new services that feasibly address customer needs with speed, while balancing business needs and technological restraints.

What You’ll Get to Do:

• Serve as an omnichannel design expert, evolving intellectual and strategic concepts from brainstorm to implementation
• Plan and execute research studies using ethnographic and participatory methods
• Work side-by-side with clients to assess, update, and create new services to accomplish real business goals in omnichannel environments
• Facilitate workshops to align stakeholders, ideate solutions, and report findings
• Assess the current state, exploring pain points and strengths of existing solutions
• Study people’s implicit attitudes, behaviors, and motivations in order to create insights for our clients
• Bring insights to life as conceptual designs, personas, user journeys, service design blueprints, prototypes, and more
• Mentor more junior service designers

What You’ll Bring with You:

• 5+ years of experience in service design, design research, and/or design strategy
• Ability to conceptually apply design principles to various business scenarios
• Experience in planning and facilitating qualitative design research projects
• Ability to work cross-functionally with team members, client members, and stakeholders
• Case studies showcasing your past work, including deliverables such as user personas, system maps, journey maps, service blueprints, etc. Bonus points for an ability to make creative adjustments to common service design artifacts
• Strong workshop facilitation skills
• Knack for answering questions with another question
