Senior Service Designer

The Senior Service designer will lead the following functions

Stakeholder management: Facilitating design sprints and bespoke workshops to connect all relevant stakeholders, from small holder farmers to internal Bayer colleagues

Venture Design: Working together with our Venture Leads across the APAC region to design customer experience, identify new business opportunities and create unique value proposition for our ventures

Design Research Strategy: Leading the design research strategy to support DI teams across APAC. Planning together with the local team research activities such as field studies, focus group, interviews, customer journey mapping, user engagement workshop, etc.

Design Training: Helping DI team members to learn more about Design research methodologies and Human Factor Engineering tools. Organizing workshop to introduce Business Design practices to our community

Cross-country Business/ Service Design engagement: Identifying strategic opportunities and overlapped customer value proposition between our ventures so that we can established cross-country business partnership.

APAC small-holder farming experience design: Lead the development of small holder farmers experience map in the APAC region, realign the fragmented value chain and food-chain partnership in the region.

Responsibilities

• Working with colleagues across APAC to support their Business/ Service Design needs
• Facilitate design sprints and workshops with heterogeneous groups of clients and stakeholders
• Support our Venture Leads when it comes to organizing virtual design sprints with wider APAC colleagues or running workshops with local colleagues and small holder farmers.
• Recommend Business Design best practice and the right design methodologies.
• To contextualize the demand and help define the need of small holder farmers. This will help to inform our digital product development process.
• To personalize the design approach and elaborate tailor-made specifications to support our ventures located in different countries
• To facilitate the internal Bayer communication in order to decompartmentalize the services or stakeholders involved in the realization of the project
• Manage user research and Business Design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource, needs and schedules.
• Collaborate with product owners and leaders to drive product strategy and the development roadmap. Plan and manage the design research activities (research strategy, ethnographic based user research, secondary research, UX research…) collaboratively with the team.
• Plan and execute system mapping, customer journeys, scenarios and service specifications.
• Analyze research data identifying and generating meaningful insights and behavioral patterns.
• Training Junior Service designers and help our Product Design team to understand Business/ Service Design principles

WHO YOU ARE:

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in working on a broad range of research and innovation-oriented projects
• Fluency in English. Another language competency is a plus (Indian language/s)
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with high-level stakeholders’ engagement. Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
• Experience with mentoring and elevating other creative people into Business Design thinking. Experience in conducting and synthesizing research, insights and findings.
• Experience in structuring and visualizing journey maps, service ideation, concept communication and specification.
• A hands-on Senior Service designer with skills in visual and interaction design as well.
• Excellent portfolio showcasing design solutions and strategic approaches.
• Ability to facilitate workshops, set design sprints and hold seminars and training sessions.
• Knowledge of agile approaches and techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences.
• A solid competency in storytelling and public speaking. You are comfortable explaining your ideas to client stakeholders and to ideate the best means to present your conceptual work.
• Attention to details and organizational approach.
• Ability to understand the impact of technology on design deliverables
