Founder/CPO/New Service Designer

We are looking for experienced CPOs / co-founders who are passionate about a business idea they bring along which they want to build together with Achmea. True team players who have already proven that they can build impactful companies within our domains (Housing, Employment, Health, Income and Mobility) but preferably away from our core business; insurance.

Are you ready to be the driving force behind the development of new services or products that customers really want?

You design and develop innovative services that make a real impact in the world and start from scratch, with a blank canvas. This is your chance to use your expertise and creativity to discover, test and further develop new revenue models. Your insights will be critical to ensure we validate the right assumptions so we can go to market with speed.

You will be energized by the entrepreneurial environment in which you form a founding team together with a CEO and have other roles join as the venture grows. As a founding team you are responsible for all stages of the development of innovative proposals, from problem fit and business case to identifying organizational and technical requirements for launch or scaling.

Both the Hub’s own team of experts (i.e., data engineers, developer and others) and experts throughout the Achmea organization will help you on your way to quickly define clear problems to tackle and develop the right solutions and concepts that will be the basis for a strong venture. For the development of the venture, you will pitch for funding internally.

We link the employment contract to the progress of your venture, so that you, as the founder of the company, determine your own future. Initially we offer a three-month contract so we can explore, build a first prototype, find first customers, and determine the potential of your idea. If we both like what we see, we extend our cooperation. Your personal path of growth aligns directly with the growth of the venture.

Your responsibilities will include o.a.:

• Identifying opportunities and seeing undiscovered opportunities to develop and launch new services in emerging segments of Achmea’s market domains (Living, Working, Healthcare, Income and Mobility)
• Hands-on experimentation and validation of assumptions to understand customer needs and service feasibility
• Developing/building solutions and concepts that meet the collected customer needs
• Managing a development team
• Analyzing and drawing conclusions from product analytics
• Working together with the various stakeholders/stakeholders to create support and align the services with our strategic goals.
• Developing and testing designs to create the perfect UX/UI.

Your energetic world view is refreshing and different. You have keen analytical skills and the unique ability to zoom in on the details while seeing the bigger picture, even in a complex environment. You thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, effortlessly switching between different projects and challenges. Your entrepreneurial mindset is a driving force behind turning ideas into successful and impactful new services.

In addition, we would like to see the following elements in your profile:

• 10+ year experience as a service/product designer
• You have proven that you are able to develop, test, and successfully launch new innovative propositions with independent revenue models
• You have had at least one founder role at a start-up / scale-up, managing others
• Extensive knowledge and track record in at least one of our domains, namely: Sustainable living and working, Healthcare, Mobility and Income
• Extensive experience with and knowledge of various innovation and design methodologies (lean startup, design thinking, service design, customer journey mapping, design thinking, etc.)
• You are result-oriented and go for maximum impact, but in a good balance with quality
• You recognize a high level of resilience and flexibility in yourself and don’t mind working in an environment that is still in the process of being started up
• You are a teamplayer
• You have knowledge of different research and experimentation methods to understand the needs of customers and the feasibility of the services (interviews, ethnography, visual concept mapping, prototyping)
• You have excellent communication skills, and you have a natural talent for communicating concepts and insights to others in an engaging and clear way.
• You know how to inspire and motivate others to work together towards good results
• You have a university working and thinking level
