Region Skåne

Make a difference. Every day.

Do you want to be involved in the start-up and design of a unique service as a service designer with us? Then this is a service for you!

The administration Digitization IT and MT was established in January 2020 and provides support and service to the health care system in Scania. The administration’s mission is to introduce a modern and coherent digital care environment in parallel with the operation and effective consolidation of today’s existing IT environment. The assignment includes management and support of existing and future systems as well as being responsible for, throughout the entire product life cycle, maintaining the operational reliability of Region Skåne’s medical technology products (MTP) and assisting Region Skåne’s various operations and partners with technical expertise and support in medical technology-related matters.

Region Skåne is currently carrying out extensive conversion work – Framtiden’s health system. An important enabler for the health system of the future is digitization, and as part of this, the Digitalization IT and MT administration has established the operational area (VO) digital transformation. Here we work goal-directed and strategically with digitization and conversion together with our businesses and important partners.

Within VO digital transformation, we are located in the Digital services and design unit. We are a growing team and today consist of approximately 10 employees who work with the design of our digital services and analysis of the business’s needs.

Our main mission is to ensure that everything that Digitalisation IT and MT does should contribute to our users having the best possible experience. This means that when you work as a service designer at Region Scania, you get a chance to make life better for all 1.3 million residents of Scania. We are facing a major challenge where, among other things, through digital transformation, we need to fundamentally transform the entire region’s operations. Our contribution in this is to use service design to ensure that our services are connected and deliver value at every step.

We are currently building our team and strive to create a diversified work team where the collective competence is great and we can help and learn from each other as much as possible!

Job duties

This is an exciting and newly established role where you will have great opportunities to influence the design of routines and working methods. Your duties include, among other things, to:
– Use service design methodology to design new and improved services for residents and employees
– act responsible for the experience of an area of services and lay out a roadmap for the development of this area
– carry out analyzes of how services work today and which gaps that exist against how they should function
– assist and collaborate with the region’s businesses in the digitization work as well as sell in various ideas and concepts
– define future development needs for the business.

With us, you will be part of a team with other sub-portfolio managers and talented service designers. You also work very closely with service managers, program managers, project managers and those who own the sub-portfolios from the business side. Your role in this context is to stand on the user’s side and, together with employees, patients and residents, ensure that the user’s journey across multiple services and touchpoints provides value at every step.

At the unit, we are currently reshaping the team, which means that your specific tasks may change over time. We are also in the process of implementing a new model for managing our IT development. Since we do not yet know exactly what this model will look like with us, you have great opportunities to be involved and influence how you and our unit will operate in it. In other words, it is not a ready-made role you enter, but routines and processes are still under development. It is therefore important that you are comfortable with continuously shaping and adjusting your way of working according to changing circumstances.

As we are in the midst of several major and sweeping changes, you need to thrive in a dynamic environment and be prepared for the fact that your duties may change over time.

Qualifications

We welcome you with a relevant post-secondary education or you with another education in combination with work experience that the employer deems relevant. For the role, it is required that you have worked both with designing new services and analyzing and improving existing services. In addition, you master the service designer’s usual methods for user studies such as customer journeys, service maps, various formats of workshops, interviews, prototyping and have experience in structured analysis of results linked to these. You also have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. There are many ways to become a service designer, so please describe your education and previous experience and how it helped you!

It is advantageous if you have experience of working strategically and practically with service design and UX in a large and complex IT environment, for example from a larger organization or an extensive project. As we work a lot with the care sector, experience and/or knowledge from care operations is also meritorious. Communication is a central part of the position and we would like you to have experience in selling ideas as well as creating and giving sales presentations. It is also beneficial if you have knowledge of laws and regulations that affect us in the public sector, such as GDPR, OSL, PDL and LOU.

As a person, you need to be determined and a bit stubborn, but still humble. We like that you are outgoing, good at networking and can easily build trust. It is also important that you are analytical and have good communication skills and can “speak IT” in a way that everyone understands. You easily take a leading role if needed but have no problem backing down in situations when it is most favorable. In addition, you think in terms of long-term goals and are not afraid to take your own initiatives and risks if that is what is best in the long run. You are a distinct team player to the extent that you are keen to share your knowledge and fit into the big building, but you also enjoy working independently. We are keen to find the right person for our team and attach great importance to personal suitability.
