As a Senior Service Designer, you will be supporting If’s commercial business area where we serve around 340,000 businesses and their people in the Nordic countries, ranging from small one-person companies to large corporations. As our new service designer in a team of different experts, CX strategist, Data analysts, Digital analysts, and CRM specialists, you will be leading service design projects in an agile operating model and supporting our value stream with actionable insights. To thrive in this position requires a high degree of autonomy and self-leadership, but you are never alone, friendly colleagues are always there to support you.

You will:

  • Leading Service Design Projects: You will be responsible for leading service design projects from start to finish. This involves managing the project timeline, identifying key stakeholders, defining the project scope, conducting research, and creating design solutions.
  • Conducting Research: You will be responsible for conducting research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points. This could include customer interviews, surveys, or observational studies.
  • Analyzing Data: Once data has been collected, you analyze it to uncover insights and patterns. This often involves both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Ideation: You will lead brainstorming sessions and facilitate ideation workshops to generate a wide range of ideas.
  • Developing concepts and solutions: Based on research and data analysis, you develop service solutions that meet customer needs and solve business problems. This could include creating journey maps, mock-ups, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Sketching, prototyping, and testing: Once the concepts have been developed, you will create sketches and prototypes that you are tested with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and experts to ensure that your work creates actionable insights for the projects and different teams. You will support an effective handover to relevant stakeholders.

You will become a member of the Research and Service Design Chapter, which is part of a large and diverse design community at If, filled with creative, competent, and friendly colleagues spread across the Nordics and Baltics.

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced senior service designer who is passionate about people and design thinking. We believe you should be solution-oriented and able to find your way in complex situations, always striving to ensure that the insights you deliver are actionable. We have high standards when it comes to collaboration, problem-solving, and integrity. As our new colleague, we’d want you to have a strong interest in continuous improvement and always strive for projects that will help align user needs and business goals within If.

You also have:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a service designer in in-house or consulting roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in service design, UX design, or a related subject
  • Deep knowledge and experience in design thinking, service design, and customer research methodologies, and tools such as journey mapping, service blueprinting, and mixed methodology research
  • Proven skills in creating detailed customer journeys, mockups, etc. to ensure that developed functions or features meet customer insights and needs
  • Working proficiency in English. Other Nordic languages will be considered a plus
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, design sprints, and training sessions
  • Knowledge of agile approaches and techniques is considered a plus
  • The ability to understand the impact of technology on design deliverables is seen as a plus.
  • You are comfortable with explaining your ideas to client stakeholders and ideating the best means to present your conceptual work.
