Service Designer

A Service Designer in Velvet designs services that create value for users, organisations and society. Service Designers work both in the front- and back- end of services, orchestrating change and alignment to deliver a coherent service experience.

Service Designers in Velvet have the great opportunity to expand their skillset by working with clients in both the public and private sector.

As a Service Designer in Velvet, we expect you to contribute service design expertise to multidisciplinary team projects taking full ownership of the service design activities from scoping to delivery.

As a Service Designer in Velvet you would:

• Plan, scope and define service design projects and activities
• Map, understand and scope complex services and service ecosystems
• Conduct user research after choosing the appropriate methods
• Articulate a valuable design strategy to meet the clients’ goals
• Create, visualise and prototype multiple service concepts
• Design services that deliver excellent service experiences for users and providers
• Create systemically and operationally sustainable services
• Advocate for the creation of humane services
• Empathically guide the client through the design process
• Collaborate and engage with other disciplines and team members for the success of the project
• Drive the understanding of service design and act as an ambassador for the discipline in house

• Systemic thinking and ability to synthesise large amounts of information
• Ability to learn from people, generate empathy, understand “otherness”
• Co-creation- getting creative ideas and results from anyone
• Explorative and open mindset – not conforming with the first ideas
• Capacity to bridge design disciplines- knowing when to involve colleagues
• Ability to connect design strategy to business goals
• Estonian and English fluency are a must! Russian and Spanish are great extras
