Service Designer

For our client, we are looking for a service designer to join one of their teams. The team works with the design, implementation and development of broadcast technical infrastructure, which enables content production and publication. Most of this infrastructure will be replaced as part of the modernization of their production platform. 

Overall desired competence:

• Organizationally knowledgeable, with the ability to navigate organizational politics.
• Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Able to run design processes also in environments with low/medium experience in working design-driven.
• Ability to graphically produce and present new concepts and user journeys that engage and create understanding.
• Able to easily familiarize oneself with technically complex systems.
• Ability to understand the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term perspective.
• Ability to translate future business functions and requirements into solution architecture.
• Ability to work creatively and analytically to solve business problems and propose solutions.
• Ability to quickly understand the functions and possibilities of new technology.

MUST-have requirements:

• must be able to guarantee a physical presence at NRK’s ​​premises in Oslo, four to five days a week.
• must be able to speak and write Norwegian fluently, and have a good command of written and oral English
• must be able to show at least 3 relevant work samples
• must have at least 3 years’ experience with process management within design methodology.
• must have at least 3 years of experience in gathering user insights

SHOULD have requirements: (in the evaluation these are weighted from 1-10 points)

• should show one example of how the person in question has collaborated, communicated and built relationships in complex organizations to achieve a joint result.
• should show at least one example where the person concerned has shown a good understanding of strategic and new technology trends, and the practical application of existing and new technologies to new and developing business and operating models.
• should show at least one example where the person concerned has shown a good understanding of strategic and new technology trends, and the practical application of existing and new technologies to new and developing business and operating models.
• should have experience in workshop management
• should be able to hold several parallel processes at the same time
• should have experience in preparing future user journeys for modernized production methods
• should have higher education in the field of design / in design methodology
• should have experience in visualizing in a graphical and educational way
• should have experience in helping to introduce a modern mindset and vocabulary, as well as good work routines.
• should have experience in creating prototypes to flesh out a concept.
• should have experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD or similar
• should have experience in user testing both prototypes and solutions in operation.
• should have good storytelling qualities
• should have a general high technical understanding/ability to understand complicated systems at a superior level.
