As a Service Designer, you’ll take the lead on discovery work that will help us identify and define initiatives that will positively impact people and maximise the value delivered by our value stream squads.  You’ll support our stakeholders and squads to enable them to design and deliver the best solutions for a given problem.

The Role

This is a strategic role, where you’ll take a customer-led approach to defining a backlog for change in our organisation.  You’ll work across the enterprise to understand and define the business and customer outcomes we’re seeking to deliver on, and leverage design approaches and data and insights to make recommendations for change.

You’ll work collaboratively with value stream leadership, Product Owners, senior stakeholders, and centres of expertise to define the priority, understand the impact on people, process and technology, and ensure we’re taking an enterprise view as we design and deliver customer journeys and service experiences.

About you:

  • A thorough understanding of the many facets of design and especially service design and human centred design.

  • 5-8 years’ experience in a service design role, balancing organisational constraints with value delivered for multiple stakeholders, across a range of touchpoints and channels. (Digital transformation experience will be a bonus).

  • Proven experience applying your analysis skills at an organisational, strategic level, looking for opportunities that redesign and reengineer our business processes and service delivery.

  • Experience triangulating data and information from multiple sources to find insight, and with an emphasis on transforming business process and performance, you may also have skills in Lean and process transformation. 

  • Experience describing value through the lenses of desirability, feasibility, and viability at a senior (executive) level

  • Experience in both business and technical domains, and across all areas of the project/initiative lifecycle from initiation through to solution analysis and delivery.

  • The ability to develop strong collaborative relationships – facilitating, managing, influencing, and communicating effectively with partners at all levels

  • A fascination with how customers experience products and services and have a hunger to improve those experiences

  • A strong focus on applying ethical and inclusive design practices in service design
