Service Designer

Full Time

Einstein Hospital Israelita

Summary

The Health Design Lab is an innovation area at Einstein. We are a space that allows ideas to be realized in the form of projects, through the validation of needs and experimentation with new solutions for the healthcare sector, whether physical medical products, digital products, or processes. We provide strategic guidelines to leverage new businesses, exploring service models and experience journeys that will place people’s needs at the center of everything we do. We are building a more connected, predictive, and human healthcare ecosystem. We are a multidisciplinary team with designers, developers, and healthcare professionals.
To drive this vision, we are seeking a specialist service designer to join our multidisciplinary and visionary team.

As a research-oriented service designer, you will be the driving force behind the in-depth analysis and creation of strategic insights and guidelines for innovative, human-centered healthcare services. Your role will be fundamental in translating complex sector challenges into strategic opportunities, designing and validating solutions that not only meet the needs of patients and healthcare professionals but also create sustainable value for new services. You will connect research, strategy, and design to create the future of healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • To engage other innovation analysts, senior and junior designers in high performance, and to influence them with the design culture.
  • To guide potential mood swings among innovation analysts, senior and junior designers, which may occur during the course of the project.
  • Intervene in minor procedural issues, capacity allocation problems, and misalignments that may occur at the micro-coordination level of projects, always in alignment with the coordinator.
  • To map and investigate complex healthcare ecosystems, using qualitative and quantitative research methods to identify critical problems and latent opportunities for innovation.
  • Conduct trend analyses, market studies, and benchmarking to support the creation of future scenarios and guide innovation strategy.
  • To act as a deep researcher, generating actionable insights into the behaviors, pains, and needs of patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • To propose risk analysis models with clear prioritization criteria and executive decision-making guidelines.
  • Design and facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with diverse stakeholders (doctors, managers, patients, executives, external partners, etc.), promoting a collaborative environment for generating ideas and solutions.
  • Utilize design methods and tools to guide teams in creating diagrams, process maps, patient journeys, service blueprints, innovative business models, value chain designs, etc.
  • To make abstract concepts tangible through visual and interactive artifacts, such as low- and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Develop robust experimentation plans to test and validate service hypotheses in controlled, real-world environments.
  • Coordinate the execution of pilot projects and proof-of-concept studies, defining clear success metrics to evaluate the viability, desirability, and feasibility of the proposed solutions.
  • Iterate rapidly on prototypes based on collected feedback, ensuring the final solution is relevant and impactful.
  • To articulate the strategic value of service solutions to business leaders and teams, championing the project vision and ensuring the necessary alignment and buy-in.
  • Collaborate closely with technology, operations, and product teams to ensure a clear and efficient handoff, translating the service vision into functional requirements and implementation plans.
  • To act as a skilled negotiator, managing expectations and building bridges between different areas to enable the execution of projects.

Requirements

  • Production Engineering or Economics.
  • Professional experience as a Researcher, Service Designer, Design Strategist, or similar role, with a portfolio demonstrating leadership in complex innovation projects from start to finish.
  • Proven proficiency in identifying problems and opportunities through in-depth research methods.
  • Ability to create conceptual future scenarios, translating trends and insights into clear strategic visions.
  • Expertise in conducting analyses with unique significance for the consulting client of the project.
  • Practical experience in planning and executing complex research projects that require the participation of multiple stakeholders, involve conflicts of interest, and involve managing success metrics.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Manufacturing, or Office.
  • Creating North Star metrics, OKRs, and KPIs.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare sector, healthtech companies, or innovation projects.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and their application in service development.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and product/service metrics.
  • Academic background: Master’s or Doctorate degree.
