Fuse is Cardinal Health’s innovation and product development center and we’re looking for a driven designer with solid experience in healthcare who’s excited to craft exceptional products and services users and customers will be passionate about. This role will focus on designing products and services, primarily for practice-facing systems to create useful and highly intuitive experiences that will differentiate us in the market.

Day-to-day, as Product/Service Designer, you’ll be
-
Leading product teams to deeply understand customer/user behavior, pain points, desires
-
Articulating experience challenges and opportunities in the clinical workflow space
-
Creating low and high-fidelity designs and prototypes for new products and services
-
Relentlessly considering the whole system and each detail from the user’s perspective
-
Explaining your design rationale to non-designers and building understanding of the vision
-
Collaborating to orchestrate the many functions needed to deliver a designed experience
-
Picking the most important battles to add value for users/customers
-
Clearly identifying assumptions and working to creatively test them
-
Responding to quantitative and qualitative learning with each experiment
-
Sketching the new boxes inside of which later generations will be thinking
Accountabilities

Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects

May contribute to the development of policies and procedures

Works on complex projects of large scope

Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
-
Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects
-
Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives
-
May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
Qualifications
-
At least 7 years’ experience designing products and/or services in a human-centered approach
-
3+ years designing in healthcare, ideally for practitioner-facing solutions like EHRs, clinical pathways, etc.

Familiarity with pharmacy and oncology concepts and vocabulary is a definite plus
-
A BS/MS degree in human factors, design, psychology, sociology or equivalent experience
-
A clear grasp of experience design best practices for digital and real-world touchpoints
-
IA, journey mapping, blueprinting, and interaction design chops and proficiency with relevant tools

Proven visual design and creative development skills
-
Experience facilitating user research, service prototyping and usability testing
-
Great visual, verbal and written communication skills in service of storytelling
-
Comfort designing within a modern product/service design lifecycle
-
A conversant understanding of strategy, operations, and technology behind healthcare businesses
-
An ability to guide team members and stakeholders through a design thinking mindset
-
Willingness to travel (once that’s safe again)
-
An ability to work remotely
