What you will be doing…
Over the course of the contract, this role will work on variety of projects. Initially we have a unique opportunity as part of an organisation wide operating model to take stock of the services we provide to users across the organisation – primarily our UK based service users.

This will help create a holistic understanding so we can better deliver Strategy 2030. Working with the op model team you’ll help understand the experience of service users, the services we provide and potential areas for greater impact.

As part of a growing community of designers, you will actively contribute to the development of our user-centred design approach and collaborating to ensure consistency and continuous improvement through shared learning.

What we are looking for…
You will be an experienced Service Designer with a portfolio showcasing work to improve end to end user journeys across both digital and offline channels.

You will be user focused with sound experience of user research, including rapid prototyping and quantitative and qualitative methods.

You will be able to identify constraints and work within them where necessary and challenging their validity where appropriate.

Meet the team…
The British Red Cross helps people when crisis hits. Our ambitious new strategy focuses this support in three key cause areas:
– Migration and displacement
– Disasters and emergencies
– Health inequalities

The Digital Transformation team currently works across two of these three areas: migration and displacement and disasters and emergencies. We’re also working across the organisation on changing our ways of working, with a focus on product management and agile delivery methods.

Our team is small but what we can accomplish is significant. We’re united by a shared passion for user-centred design, making things better for people who use Red Cross services and for the volunteers and staff delivering them.

The team is currently made up of two programme managers and another senior service designer, with other service designer, UX/UI designer and content designer roles sitting in adjacent teams.
