Service Designer

Skatteetaten
Although we have previously won several awards for good work with UX and universal design, we know that this is continuous work. By placing the user more clearly at the center of the development of services, we want to a greater extent to solve the real problems for both private individuals and businesses. To manage this, we must work more across our internal professional environment as well as in the public sector and with other actors. To manage this, we need more service designers in our professional environment within UX.
With us, you will work to increase the agency’s ability to work data-driven by mapping and visualizing internal user needs across the organisation, with very different user groups, from professional analysts to managers who have to prioritize. You will also work with solution work on documentation and training, as well as how we can visualize data in such a way that different user groups can use it.
What does the job entail?
You can do this (and probably much more) with us:
- work as a service designer in a developing world that is constantly seeking to become even more flexible
- be a process driver in design thinking processes
- carry out insight work and promote the results from this
- develop concepts and ideas together with others through involving workshops
- visualized complex data in simple and understandable ways
- visualize insights, processes and complex relationships (for example user journeys and gigamaps)
- prepare concepts and sketches and test these against real users
- contribute to work on preparing documentation and training in connection with computer products
- work closely with various stakeholders where your main task is to work actively for the users’ needs
- promote understanding of the design process, service design and UX throughout the agency
- participate actively in our professional environment by, among other things, further developing methods, processes, routines, our design system and our test lab.
What skills are important in this role?
To be eligible for the position, you have higher relevant education in IT, psychology, anthropology, sociology or design (advantage of a master’s degree). Long and relevant work experience can replace the education requirement.
In addition, you can refer to the following:
- relevant work experience as a service designer
- good competence and experience in design-driven processes and methods
- good visual communication skills
- experience in thinking strategically from the user’s needs and at the same time taking care of the whole
- good written and oral communication skills in Norwegian
It is an advantage if you have experience:
- with working in interdisciplinary teams
- from complex and large organizations
- in planning and estimating UX work
- with information visualization
We ask that diplomas/transcripts and relevant certificates be uploaded as attachments to the online application.
What are we looking for in you?
You are analytical, take initiative and work independently to find the best solutions. In addition, you are capable of making decisions and know how to prioritize in order to create the greatest possible value. You are responsible for your own tasks and have a keen eye for new opportunities and improvements.
We want a colleague who has a genuine desire to contribute to our organization becoming more data-driven, and who wants to help shape how we work with this, both on a daily basis and in the long run.
