Senior Service Designer

The role
As a Senior Service Designer, you will be helping ASB understand our customers better, developing products and services that accelerate the financial progress of all New Zealanders.
You will be accountable for end-to-end planning and facilitation of service design work for a broad range of stakeholders throughout ASB, applying your deep expertise in Service Design to lead and coach key stakeholders from across the business.
This hands-on delivery will include researching and understanding customer needs, generating insights, reframing problems, customer journey mapping, ideation, prototype building, and testing, storytelling, strategy development, and value delivery.
The practice you are joining
A Design practice that is a year into its journey of Agile transformation that is growing in size as demand across the business grows.
Made up of Researchers, Service Designers, Process Designers, UX and UI experts, we are a collaborative team that cares deeply about our craft and building amazing experiences for our customers and our people.
We embrace flexible working and autonomy with a healthy blend of office based and remote working. Given the early stage of the practice’s journey, there is a real opportunity to bring your influence and help pave the future direction of the practice. This might be identifying new methodologies and tools to experiment with, coaching peers, or exploring gaps in our knowledge to push the traditional boundaries of both banking and design.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a senior level practitioner who has several years’ service design experience in agencies and/or large organisations. You will have worked in a design team to serve the needs of a wide range of stakeholders.
You will have a pragmatic attitude to design. Being a strong advocate for the customer and balancing through delivery across the needs of the organisation such as; Product, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Technology.
Ideally, you will have some coaching experience as you will actively work to influence and coach stakeholders across a variety of initiatives.
You will thrive in building and maintaining solid relationships with internal customers and stakeholders, be known for your ability to take a design challenge from initial idea to implementation.
Experience in working within Agile and a high degree of business acumen will be a bonus.
