Service Designer

Role Title:

Assistant Manager- Public Health Engineering (PHE)

Responsible for designing and Revit drafting of PHE , ensuring they are efficient, safe, environmentally responsible, and compliant with regulations under the guidance of Design Managers and AVP.

Areas of Accountability:

Design Development:

• Partner with architects, Landscape, structural, Mechanical & Electrical experts to develop comprehensive PHE design plans and concepts in line with project demands under the guidance of Design manager and PHE Head.

Sustainable Design:

• Ensure that PHE designs prioritize sustainability, energy efficiency, and minimize environmental impact, aligning with green building principles and regulations under the guidance of Design manager and PHE Head.

Compliance with Standards:

• Ensure that all designs strictly comply with relevant industry standards and codes, including NBC (National Building Code), CPHEEO (Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organization), BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and IGBC (Indian Green Building Council).
• Submission of drawings for seeking NOCs from relevant government authorities like firefighting, BWSSB, BBMP, BDA etc.

Design Translation and Delivery:

• Translate design concepts into detailed Revit drawings suitable for Good For Construction (GFC).
• Provide inputs for coordinated drawings.
• Collaborate closely with other stake holders co-ordinating to facilitate smooth production processes with accuracy.
• Deliver GFC drawings within agreed-upon project timelines.
• Check the drawings with check list.

Output Quality:

• Ensure designs and Revit drawings with clash free.
• Undertake regular inspections at construction sites to verify that designs, recommended materials & components specifications are faithfully translated into execution.
• Implement robust quality assurance measures to maintain high construction standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all design-related activities, Revit drawings changes, and approvals.
• Provide routine progress reports to relevant stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including architects, structural engineers, and project managers, to seamlessly integrate PHE systems into overall building designs & execution under the guidance of Design Managers and AVP.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PHE.
• Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and innovation in design methodologies for TE.

Safety Compliance:

• Ensure that all PHE designs prioritize safety in line with relevant safety codes and regulations.

Client Satisfaction:

• Ensure that the design meets all requirements and preferences ensuring client satisfaction.

Deliverables:

Assure superior quality- PHE design solutions, to deliver reliable Revit drawings & compliant TE projects.

Project Timeliness: GFC Goals

• Project Schedule Adherence: The ability to meet project milestones and deadlines according to the established timelines.
• Percentage of design plans and drawings to be delivered on time.

Design and Drawing Accuracy:

• Design Efficiency: The effectiveness of the engineer in optimizing system designs for quality, functionality & cost-efficiency under the guidance of Design Managers and AVP.
• Accuracy of Plans: The percentage of design plans that require minimal revisions on or before the construction phase under the guidance of Design Managers and AVP.
• All the templates and Revit drawing should be clash free and accurate.

Quality Control:

• Defect Rate: The percentage of projects that require rework or corrective measures due to PHE & FF design and drawings errors.
• Percentage of projects where maintenance issues arise post-construction & handover.

Environmental Impact:

• Sustainable Design: The incorporation of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient elements into designs as per IGBC standards & LEED Certification criteria under the guidance of Design Managers and AVP.

Stakeholder Satisfaction:

• Feedback on the quality, clarity, and completeness of design plans under the guidance of Design Managers and AVP.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adherence to Codes and Regulations: Ensuring that designs and installations comply with local, national, and international codes and safety standards under the guidance of Design Managers and AVP.

Skills and Qualification :

• Diploma. / BE /B Tech in Mechanical or Electrical
• Minimum 5yrs of relevant experience
