Service Designer

Your role in a nutshell 

As a Service Designer, you will mainly work on projects that develop the part of Verkkokauppa.com’s operations that are visible to customers, and especially our online store website. You will participate in researching, identifying and understanding customer needs by conducting interviews, observations and various surveys. You will conceptualize solutions taking into account both customer and business needs, and you will take care of both the validation and user testing of these solutions.  

In the design team, we mainly work in pairs, and you will also work closely with other stakeholders. You will listen carefully to their needs and actively share research results and customer insights with different parties, so teamwork and communication skills are key to success in this role. 

We work according to the principles of agile development and our working year is divided into development periods of a few months. In each development period you get to work on and complete at least one project. Our workspace is located in Jätkäsaari, Helsinki, where we meet face-to-face with our closest colleagues every other week and when work tasks require it.

Your toolbox includes service design skills, either acquired through work experience or education. You are comfortable conducting both qualitative and quantitative research and are proficient in, among other things, describing customer journeys, measuring customer experience, service blueprints, planning and facilitating workshops, and user research.  

You have the right design thinking attitude and the ability to clarify customer needs and communicate them to the right stakeholders. You approach your work with a development-oriented approach, are enthusiastic about collaboration and are happy to learn from others. You know how to structure your own work and take things forward in a self-directed manner.
