Service / Business Designer (fixed-term maternity-leave replacement for 12 months)

KONE LAB is a new function in KTI, dedicated to discovering new differentiated solutions in and around existing KONE business areas together with customers via co-creation projects. In KONE LAB we work in the customer context and invite customers to join the innovation process right from the beginning.

We are now looking for Service / Business Designer to join to the diverse group of professionals in KONE LAB innovation team in Espoo, Finland. Team members have wide range of competencies from business, design and various technology areas. We work closely with our partners and sub-contractors to get the top talent needed for the job at hand.

This role is a temporary maternity-leave replacement and an exciting opportunity to be a part of creating a completely new team and working culture at KONE. You will be in essential role of establishing and strengthening KONE LAB design practices and methodologies. As a Service / Business Designer you will be designing and prototyping new business, business models and strategy that enhances and extends customer experiences while creating new opportunities for revenue. We are looking for a person who has a strong know-how on design thinking, co-creation and with a fearless challenger attitude. As an addition you need to have an experience of new business development through validated customer value.

You will be operating in quick learning cycles via experiments; seeking problems that are worth solving and co-creating solutions that are worth building. You will also have a chance to be part of building new ways of working and Service / business design capability in KONE globally. Welcome to the team!

• Your sservice and business design hand on toolbox consist of several things like: (using of hypothesis and working with scenarios, forming and testing financial assumptions and pricing strategies, cost and revenue estimates and forecasting, creating go-to market strategy with iterations, understanding impact and direction with leading and lagging indicators)
• You are familiar of quantative and qualitative research methods, Innovation accounting and Lean Start-up methods and design thinking
• You have excellent presentation, communication and facilitation skills, traction for storytelling to convince stakeholders with insights and you have willingness to maximise learning by sharing your experience and expertise within the team members. Your Team player mentality gives you the keys for success.

You might have

• Master’s degree in Service Design or Business e.g. MSc Econ or MBA degree
• Relevant work experience
• Previous experience in working in agile multidisciplinary team
• Network in the local start-ups and service design community
