Lead Service Designer

We are seeking a Lead Service Designer to join our newly established digital organization. You will be responsible for delivering service design expertise for our various product teams and stakeholders. Gathering insights and translating those to actionable roadmaps and digital services. Having a strong focus on end-user and customer needs and optimizing the industrial service delivery.

This position is located in Finland, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. Your team members visit mainly our Espoo and Tampere offices.

You will join Metso Design team within Business Enablement working under our digital organization, driven by a new and ambitious digital strategy. You will collaborate with a wide and global range of people both internally and externally. Our team culture is all about getting it done – together.

What you’ll do

• You will be responsible for supporting various stakeholders and other product teams by advocating end-user needs and customer centricity for the digitally enabled services and processes.
• Gather insights from various stakeholders to identify digital development needs and opportunities, focusing on end-user and customer challenges, pain points, opportunities, and business development perspectives.
• Facilitate Co-Creation Workshops. Lead collaborative sessions where stakeholders, team members, and users come together to generate ideas, solve problems, and co-design solutions.
• Promote Design thinking and sustainable service creation. Advocate for user-centered design approaches. Foster creativity, encourage participation, and guide the group toward actionable outcomes.
• Ensure the technical enablers yield the maximum value for the customers and internal stakeholders.
• Drive the customer and stakeholder validation for the design of service, process, and business models​.
• Collaborate with a team of multitalented designers to actively develop and lead well-functioning practices for competence areas and generate awareness and inclusion in line with Metso values.

Who you are

• You have a proven track record from working in service design and a profound understanding of the service design practice to succeed in turning insights into actionable digital services.
• You have good professional skills and as a collaborative team player, you navigate different stakeholders with ease, collaborating across diverse cultures and environments.
• Previous exposure to industrial companies directly or as a consultant is an asset.
