The Information Systems Branch is responsible for providing strategic IM/IT leadership for the justice and public safety sector, and for the provision of IM/IT services to support our sector program areas and stakeholders. The branch includes six divisions:  MCIO Division, Client Services Division, Chief Technology Office Division, Service Design & Architecture, Program & Portfolio Management and the Strategic Planning and Digital Transformation Division.

The Service Design Specialist provides leadership, expertise and creative solutions to service design, user experience design and personalized digital services. This position works with program leads in ministries to define, implement and measure service design projects, often in support of major change initiatives and in alignment with the new corporate plan, Where Ideas Work.  This position requires experience with service design methodology, prototyping, and a commitment to improving services for citizens, staff and stakeholders.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Education and Experience

• Degree or diploma in Service Design, User Experience Design, Social Sciences, Library Science or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
• Training and/or experience specializing in one of the following: design research, information architecture, content strategy, interaction design or prototyping.
• At least one year experience utilizing user experience design methods (design research, strategy development) to plan and build web priorities, including experience in information architecture, content development, basic web graphic development and interaction design, or an equivalent combination of related experience, education or training.
• Experience in long term commitment to delivering service to citizens/customers.
• Experience in leadership, communications, relationship building, and planning.
