Service Designer

The Service Designer works with the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch’s (LCRB) Planning and Analytics Unit and contracted developers to provide leadership, expertise and creative solutions to service design, user experience design and digital services. This position works closely with operational areas to build an end-to-end, and front (user experience) to back (organizational systems) understanding of the LCRB’s services. If you thrive in an environment dedicated to cooperation and teamwork, and enjoy working towards group and organizational goals, we look forward to your application.

Job Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science or Social Sciences; OR
• An equivalent combination of related experience and/or education may be considered.
• A minimum of 1 year of training or experience in utilizing human-centred design methods to design and deliver services including experience in EACH of the following:
  • Design research;
  • Prototyping; and
  • UX design.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

• Workshop design and facilitation;
• Working on an agile team;
• Working on complex projects with tight deadlines, multiple partners, and competing priorities;
• Conducting trauma informed design research and engagement; and
• Working with design software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
