Service Designer

Are you a service designer with experience creating new services from scratch and auditioning existing ones? Do you like working in small teams with a lot of autonomy, and to shape projects together? Keep reading.

As a service designer at Anglemap you’ll join a small, diverse, and international team of 4 working with some of the world’s leading companies mostly on internal projects. These include topics such as supporting women to advance their careers or helping create programs to onboard new leaders.

Currently we have team members in Vienna, Hong Kong, and Toronto, but the aim is to grow our core team in Vienna and to physically work together at least some of the time. Right now everyone is fully remote but that may change to a flexible hybrid structure in the future as the local team grows. Everyone on this 75% female team is a designer in some form, and our clients value our process and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

As a service designer, you’ll help guide clients through the design process, create resources for research and lead a research process, create typologies and journey maps, facilitate synthesis and concept development workshops, and create new service concepts.

You’ll lead one or more projects, providing the structure for the design process, and working together with a mixed team of clients and Anglemap colleagues.

Qualifications

Skills and Traits:

Service design. Design thinking. Facilitation. The confidence to lead a project. Autonomy and initiative. Empathy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – a job posting trope, but genuinely important here.

Prior exposure to corporate structures is a plus; we’re as non-corporate as it gets, but our clients are big.

Graphic design skills are not required, but nice to have. Sometimes there are things to visually design.

Education:

Some formal education in design thinking or service design is required – you should have a solid understanding of the process and tools. University degree not necessary.

Experience:

At least a couple of years, assuming you’re a fast learner.

Experience with services beyond the digital is helpful. Much of what we create has no technical component but is a series of other touchpoints or processes.
