About the role
At WorkSafe, we are adopting a more deliberate innovative, customer focus, supported by a Design Practice and new approaches and capabilities to deliver solutions to keep all Victorians healthy, safe and well.
Service Designers work closely with Senior Service Designers and Design Leads as part of a multidisciplinary project team, to provide expertise in the planning, design, development, and deployment of service design projects and enhancements to existing processes and applications.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Provide expertise in the delivery of Service Design deliverables including strategic design, working closely with the business to clarify and define unknown problems and unknow solutions, design research activities, synthesis and insight generation, service value proposition and concept development
- Ensuring that design outcomes are well understood and agreed by all stakeholders through the creation of artefacts that capture complex systems, represent research findings and demonstrate the effectiveness and value of Service Design.
- Collaborate across the Design Practice to support the delivery of high-quality design outcomes for WorkSafe using design methodologies with a strong focus on innovation and the client experience.
- Provide expertise in the planning, design, development, and deployment of service design projects, and enhancements to existing processes and applications.
- Provide advice and solutions in relation to accessibility needs for projects, incorporating inclusivity and ethics into outcomes.

About you
We are seeking a talented and creative Service Designer to join our growing design team. As a Service Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, collaborating with clients and colleagues to create innovative and user-centered experiences. If you have a passion for design and a strong understanding of user needs, then this is the perfect role for you.
We are looking for someone who is skilled in both design thinking and user-centred design. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of human-centered design principles and be able to translate insights into actionable design solutions. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as you will be working with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and present design solutions.

You will possess the following skills and experience:
- Embrace design methodologies to develop solutions improving WorkSafe client experience
- Contribute to the delivery of service design initiatives leveraging design processes and tools.
- Proactively suggest ways to improve existing service design tools & techniques
- Work closely with product / service owners to identify improvement opportunities by proactively capturing and analysing clients’ feedback
- Contribute to service design internal initiatives to improve existing capabilities and develop new ones
- Ensure that valuable outcomes are created, captured, stored and shared to the wider organisation, in an engaging way that promotes the benefits of service design and the design practice
Qualifications
- Tertiary Degree in either Design, Business, Human Sciences, Engineering or other relevant field.
- Design methodology qualification/s desirable
