With a user-centered approach to design and application across all marketing touchpoints, you will collaborate with our marketing, product and digital center of excellence teams on defining and adhering to the UX style guide and building a shared library of assets. As a practiced designer, you will excel at delivering on all creative strategies from initial concepts through final execution in primarily digital mediums.

A firm understanding of both brand identity and user-centered design principles is crucial for success in the role. Empathy, creative problem-solving, comfort with working independently, excellent communication skills, curiosity and learning are the foundational characteristics for the ideal candidate. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager of Brand, Content and Creative. The position is remote, with the home office located in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Build the brand by directing concept, design and execution of exceptional creative across all marketing touchpoints, including advertisements, email, social, video, web, etc.
  • Evolve and ensure the consistency and integrity of our brand and brand guidelines.
  • Bring fresh visual ideas to the team using your own expertise, knowledge of industry trends, and an eye for great design.
  • Direct user-centered design methodologies and assist with design decisions from research through implementation.
  • Work closely with designers across the organization as they develop and implement personas, user stories, wireframes, customer journeys and clickable prototypes.
  • Remain current on digital design and ecommerce trends and look for opportunities to incorporate them into creative concepts.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in in-house marketing or agency UX/UI design position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, interactive design or a related field.
  • Compelling and diverse portfolio with a body of work spanning digital (email, web, social, etc.) and print executions.
  • Clear craftsmanship for concept-driven design and storytelling.
  • Expert knowledge of branding, visual design principles and typography.
  • Experience articulating art direction in collaboration with other designers.
  • Ability to design simple, usable experiences that scale across a complex suite of touchpoints.
  • Knowledge of user-centered methodologies.
  • Have a solid understanding of current web standards and best practices, and an insatiable desire to stay on top of what’s happening in the digital design space.
  • Ability to effectively address strategic insight and requirements of brief.
  • Strong design point of view and background in creating and implementing high-level communications.
  • Driven by creative intuition, but able to gut check and course-correct with data.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking ability.
  • Experience analyzing and summarizing data to identify trends and make recommendations.
  • Experience with using Sketch, Figma and/or InVision as well as design for Drupal a plus.
