The Role

We’re looking for a talented Senior Service & Interaction Designer to join our team and contribute to designing a cohesive AWS customer experience vision, as well as executing on our plan. You will partner closely with your cross-functional team in addition to collaborating more broadly with fast-paced teams across our entire business to translate ideas into lovable results.

You will use your depth in service design, interaction design and systems thinking to craft holistic end-to-end customer experiences and drive for clarity and alignment. You have a passion for strategy that focuses on customer needs, and you leverage storytelling and facilitation to connect the dots and drive for alignment and action across the entire organization.

The ideal candidate has experience in digital enterprise products or software as a service, with strong blue sky/ideation capabilities and passion for making difficult tasks into simple and delightful experiences for customers. You would be perfect for this role if you are a systems thinker who thinks big, has experience with end-to-end service offerings and considers the scalability of design.

Responsibilities include:
· Defining and developing the vision for innovative and holistic experiences of AWS
· Ideating future states and translating these into service design tools such as service blueprints that reflect customer and business requirements
· Championing cohesive design across the end-to-end experience, uniting a growing portfolio of services and features
· Designing and facilitating playback and co-creation workshops with other teams
· Devising strategy to implement experiences that represent the most customer-centric intersection between design, business and technology
· Designing and delivering high-quality concepts to be prototyped and tested; from concept through to implementation of new products, services and ecosystems
· Crafting narratives and design artifacts to effectively present recommendations to senior stakeholders, engage them in your outputs and drive decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 8+ years of experience as a service designer, user experience designer, or similar role
· Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
· A strong online portfolio of research based human-centered design that demonstrates solving complex challenges with innovative, customer-centric solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience designing large-scale systems and interactions for a diverse and vast group of customers
· Effectiveness in working across organizational boundaries to influence the customer experience and deliver results
· Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
· Finely tuned analytical skills with the ability to connect data points to a larger experience narrative
· Previous experience leading full life cycle design projects from design strategy through execution and market introduction
· Knowledge of the latest design concepts, emerging technologies, and other developments in the user experience field
· Proficiency and strengths in areas of interaction and visual design
· Significant experience with ethnographic research (quantitative and qualitative)
· Passion for leading through craft and furthering the role of design within an organization.
· Ability to develop and mentor design talent
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
