Job Summary

The VP Service Designer will assist in the research, ideation, design, technical development, and launch of new products/services, through collaboration with stakeholders, engineers, and UI/UX designers. This position will report to the SVP, Digital Banking.

Responsibilities

  • Perform user research and design the user journey map to identify pain points and issues to be addressed.
  • Use human-centered design methods to conduct co-creation workshops with stakeholders and users
  • Support product organization in shaping roadmaps, feature lists, and user stories.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to prototype services and design blueprint.
  • Be hyper focused and organized in order to drive cross-functional teams.
  • Work with data and qualitative insight, through collaboration with stakeholders and team members to design solutions and strategic propositions.
  • Mapping the service experiences of users to define process reengineering to improve the client experience.
  • Setting future visions for products and services that inspire people and enhance the client experience.
  • Designing, building, and setting usability tests for service and product prototypes, working from sketches into quick prototypes that can be iterated with feedback.
  • Designing side by side with technologists and developers to successfully launch a service live.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Service Design or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience creating and launching new digital products/projects
  • Experience in Design Thinking and Fintech
  • Strong understanding of UX best practices
  • Knowledge of mixed-methods qualitative and quantitative research activities
  • Demonstrated and focused desire to build products and services that customers will love
  • Ability to visually design and present complex process and user flows
  • Ability to design product requirements
  • Experience helping define strategy, and then breaking it down into how that translates in a roadmap, OKRs, and features
  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of ambiguity, with high-level direction
  • Lean thinker and always looking for ways to experiment and test hypotheses (A/B testing, user behavior tracking)
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Constant attention to detail and ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Diligent attention to detail and strong technical intuition
  • A nimble approach to thinking strategically while rolling up your sleeves and getting great work done
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, work remotely, and use telecommunication tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Emphasis on Excel) or related software
  • Master’s degree or higher
  • Experience in a startup, Fintech or venture-like operating model
  • Familiar with design tools such as Figma
  • Role requires sitting or standing in front of a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time in a fixed neck position.
  • Constant use of a computer or other office equipment resulting in repeating motions of the hands and wrists.
  • Light work that may include moving objects up to 20 pounds.
