Service Designer
NDS Scotland
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Service Designer, you would be joining NDS at an exciting time where our cross-functional teams are hungry for more user-centred design expertise to elevate our work.
You will be working with an unusual mix of technology, design, clinical and operational professionals and while service design professionals are still relatively within NHSScotland, your work will deliver insights in the present and lay the foundations for growing design practice in health and care in the future
You’ll have the opportunity to deliver design work that will directly inform the development and delivery of digital services for clinicians, care workers and the general public.
If you were in this role today here are some of the things you may be doing…
– Working within a cross-functional product team working in the context of cancer treatment, end of life care and vaccinations
– Articulating where NDS products and services fit into their wider contexts and identify design opportunities
– Understanding, creating and sharing holistic user journeys in a clear, engaging way
– Creating digital and non-digital service prototypes with our fantastic UI and interaction designers
– Take responsibility for evolving NDS’s service pattern thinking and pathway design system
– Leading design workshops and events with NDS colleagues and stakeholders
– Implementing, contributing to and championing the Scottish Approach to Service Design in our work
– Actively promoting the design perspective in discussion with colleagues and stakeholders
– Taking a walk during the day to enjoy the fresh air and come back to work with new ideas and new energy
– Taking part in a cross-NDS discussion on team culture or progressive recruitment
– Representing NDS and your talent across the design community in Scottish public services and beyond by sharing your ideas in blogposts and talks
