Marine Management Organisation

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

We license and regulate marine activities in the seas around England and Wales so that they’re carried out in a sustainable way.

We’re responsible for:

• Managing and monitoring fishing fleet sizes and quotas for catches.
• Ensuring compliance with fisheries regulations, such as fishing vessel licences and quotas for fish and seafood.
• Managing funding programmes for fisheries activities.
• Planning and licensing for marine construction, deposits and dredging that may have an environmental, economic or social impact.
• Making marine nature conservation byelaws.
• Dealing with marine pollution emergencies, including oil spills.
• Helping to prevent illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing worldwide.
• Producing marine plans to include all marine activities, including those we don’t directly regulate.

Job description

This is a key role for the MMO which is required to meeting MMO’s aspirations of efficient customer focused delivery that evolves with policy intent and technology advances.

To lead, deliver and maintain the service design and business analysis for MMO. They will document the baseline and then focus on identifying opportunities to streamline delivery through business process change, challenging and changing roles and responsibilities and defining business requirement for technology support.

The role will include:

• Leading service design assignments, creating clear documentation of how our services operate, how they are supported by systems and people, and leading service design improvement delivery
• Leading the identification is technology changes or additional support required
• Leading the development of detailed business requirements for system development and process change requirements
• Lead the approval of change through the appropriate approval routes
• Lead on the quantification of business process change benefits to support prioritisation and business case development as required
• Lead the engagement with stakeholders (policy, operations, digital etc) to successfully redesign business processes and all that goes with that
• The role will work with the Senior Leadership Team and operational teams across the organisation to deliver service designs / business analysis aligned to the strategy
