This is a pivotal role to solve some of the biggest most uncertain challenges within Severn Trent in-house within a dynamic team. Our Innovations teams are all about creating value in Severn Trent and driving technology innovation. By having the eye of an experienced service designer and the right lean mindset, you will be able to play a significant part in improving our value and benefits for colleagues and customers.

In short, this role is all about understanding our customers needs and validating this through testing. What works, what does not work and how can we make it work better. This is why its key that you have a proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful service or product throughout its lifecycle, whether that be a successful cycle or not.

We need someone who has a track record of taking a problem and being able to work through the design thinking process to turn this into potential solutions. 12 months experience of service design is essential. It’s important to have the right drive, motivation and passion about innovative technologies and to be inspired by diving into data and human behavior to fuel the ideas across all of Severn Trent. You will also be super articulate in how you playback the findings, share learnings and take people on the journey.

Within role, you’ll drive and use design thinking and lean start up methodologies to uncover huge business needs and opportunities for Severn Trent, this is where your stakeholder and communication skills will come into action.
