The opportunity

Just Eat is looking for an exceptional Senior Service Designer (or maybe you call yourself a Researcher) to join our UX&D team. You’ll be working closely with the Restaurant and Operations product development teams, with the chance to redefine the touchpoints across our entire service, with an impact on the lives of our customers, Restaurant Partners and staff.

As a holistic thinker, you’ll be passionate about understanding all things about our users, whether that be a customer, restaurant partner, couriers or our internal teams that support them. You’ll be hungry for insights – keen to get stuck in and uncover our users needs across the end to end experience, then using these insights to help shape the vision and strategy.

You’ll be joining a fast paced, exciting environment, with the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects. You’ll be challenged to think innovatively and strategically, with the opportunity to get involved in all stages, from discovery and design, to embedding and scaling across our global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with your Design, Product and Engineering colleagues to help shape our global strategy for the Restaurant and Operations teams

• Working as part of a multidisciplinary embedded team, your job will include research and facilitation, and problem solving (sketching, wireframing, prototyping)

• Creating a clear vision for each service based on user insights and behaviours

• Scoping and conducting research with a variety of users, from customers through to internal staff

• Presenting and communicating your findings to the wider team

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a Senior Service Designer who can take the experience of our products to the next level. Whilst much of your time will be getting stuck into meaty problems, you’ll also be joining a team of over 40 creatives, made of of UX Designers, UI Designers, User Researchers and Copy writers.

We are looking for someone with a wealth of experience who is flexible, collaborative and curious. If you’re an excellent communicator and a true champion of UX we really want you on our team.

Skills and Experience

• Significant industry experience in a predominantly client-side, high-volume B2C/B2B UX role. Working with varied design and research processes and frameworks to deliver successful UX&D work as an individual contributor and part of a larger team.

• Experienced at evangelising and explaining to others in the organisation about UX&D processes

• Some experience of coaching or mentoring fellow UX&Ds.

• Experience of influencing and advocating for the user/customer to non-design audiences, such as Product or Technology Managers.

• Experience presenting or facilitating design talks/workshops both internally and externally.

• Experience in mapping current service journeys and creating blueprints for improved and/or new services

• Experience of service development and delivery – including idea validation and discovery, planning, user experience design, user research and usability testing – as well as of monitoring and optimising services for a variety of audience

• Experience designing and conducting research with internal staff and enterprise tooling is a big benefit
