Service Designer

First and foremost, you’ll inspire and lead projects teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and innovative design with critical, brilliant thinking. Depending on your level, you’ll work across one or several client engagements. Our clients and teams will look up to you as a true expert. You’ll convince them to trust in your experience and demonstrate it by delivering the most amazing products, services and experiences.  You’ll become a trusted advisor to a number of our key clients, maintaining relations and conversations.  You’ll be strategic and hands-on too, not afraid to get into the minute detail of design craft when required.

As a Service Designer you’ll be the best-of-the-best and we’ll expect you to show that every day, and to lead and inspire your discipline and practice team members to grow and go beyond expectations.  We’re definitely not the kind of place that repackages prior work. Of course, we expect you to build on prior experience and design assets, but we like to think of every project as a unique, tailored and fresh start and in a way as an invention itself. We expect to see a creative spark in everything you do and deliver.

You will work with Directors and Partners to shape propositions, thought leadership, engagements and proposals to develop accounts and new business opportunities. We take pride in stimulating and rewarding anyone at any level to take initiative to lead and grow new business, but the higher your level – the more initiative we expect to see.

Finally, you will bring the latest and best thinking around approach and methodology to all our clients and every engagement, and constantly work to integrate this cross-proposition, cross-discipline and cross-industry at Baringa.  You will have experience in taking your designs through more detailed definition, rolling your sleeves up to lead into the start of the delivery process. You may at points therefore cross into a more Product Owner role.

So, what are we looking for?

We are looking for senior people with a design background and many years of hands-on experience in the design and innovation industry. However, on top of being a top-notch all-round designer, you need to be a strong consultant as well. Because of the level of our client engagements, the strategic importance, high exposure and impact of the work we do, our clients expect a high level of consultancy flair and business acumen.

You’ll be experienced across the end-to-end design process, from commissioning, shaping and applying research, helping define strategy and business design, through to application of service design expertise in delivery.  You’ll help connect and build on existing capabilities, with a desire and experience in bringing the capabilities of great design into a management consulting environment.
