As an Service Designer, you will define and create exceptional human-centred experiences that benefit people and businesses. You ground your approach to digital and physical experiences in empathy and truly meet the needs of consumers, customers and employees.

You strive to understand the complete human journey and create fully aligned, context-driven experiences. You are the vital bridge to ensure that these experiences remain mindful of the business value, and the metrics needed to show the impact of experience in product and service design.

Working alongside cross-disciplinary project teams, you will be an integral part of our clients’ projects. You will need a strong knowledge of end-to-end delivery, managing expectations, and leading efforts to drive impact for our clients. Applicants should be very confident in their ability to hear and manage client priorities in a consultative environment.

What will you do?

· Lead customer and user research which provides actionable insights; leverage insights to design strategies that are desirable, feasible and viable

· Design experiences that are functional, intuitive, engaging and valuable

· Take strategy through to execution with a human-centred approach, collaborating across Slalom’s capabilities to deliver meaningful impact

· Develop innovative experiences that help our clients connect with their customers and users

Requirements:

· Experience planning and executing user research including qualitative methods (contextual interviews, ethnographic research, focus groups, etc.) and quantitative methods (survey design)

· Ability to synthesise large amounts of surfaced data and leverage to develop insights that are actionable, goal-orientated, and unique to the project

· Experience developing tools like personas, journey maps, service blueprints and ecosystem maps, experience principles, etc.

· Experience in a consulting environment or consultative role, working with clients (whether internal or external)

· An outcome-focused self-starter with the ability to go beyond strategy and articulate ideas into practical formats such as sketches, prototypes, or product backlogs

· A background in design preferred but not required; experience utilising interaction design principles and UI or visual design experience
