Job Description

Digitas UK is hiring a Lead Service Designer. Working as part of a team that includes Creatives, Strategists, Product people, Designers and Technologists, you will help create new experiences that inspire users and exceed clients’ expectations.  You will work collaboratively with a wide range of disciplines to deliver service design projects, demonstrating the value of service design to Digitas, other companies in the group and most importantly our clients, and using your experience and commerciality to identify  opportunities for growth for the service design practice specifically, and Digitas more widely.

You will be able to talk eloquently about the power of service design, and demonstrate its impact via successful client engagements.

Heres some of the things you would be doing if you joined us .

  • Leading service design engagements across range of industries and project types focussing on driving client business growth via high quality, integrated services and experiences
  • Working with other leaders and stakeholders in Digitas to continuously identify opportunities where service design as a discipline can add value to clients,
  • Working with the delivery, product and strategy teams to help scope service design related initiatives, projects, and deliverables
  • Raising the profile of service design internally and externally by being a thought leader on the potential impact of service design on a range of sectors and businesses, identifying digital, technology and business trends and innovations, and contributing to ongoing thought leadership via presentations, blog posts, white papers, breakfast briefings, lunch and learns or events for clients and prospects.
  •  Working with other leaders and stakeholders of the firm to grow our service design capabilities and help grow client relationships including via writing proposals and taking part in pitches.
  • Partnering with clients to uncover business needs and objectives, craft appropriate strategies and solutions, and identify/implement and successfully manage the execution of the plan
  • Developing the service design practice by introducing and championing tools, methodologies and applications and inspiring innovative approaches and techniques
  • Being the champion of the user by helping the team to empathise with their needs and situation
  • Leading or delivering service design activities such as understanding and mapping the service context (e.g. stakeholders, partners, suppliers, ecosystems, physical infrastructure, etc.), formulating outcome-oriented hypotheses and concepts, and articulating service value propositions in multi-channel experiences across multiple touchpoints, as well as identifying commercial opportunities
  • Contributing to research by identifying needs, taking part, synthesising results and using your skills as a storyteller to impart the findings, tailoring your medium and message appropriately for each audience
  • Encouraging others in the team to collaborate and communicate openly and honestly, giving and receiving well thought through workshops, collaborative sprints and other forms of group work with clients and the wider team to drive alignment, clarity and shared understanding, innovation and creativity

Qualifications

  • An experienced practitioner with the ability to craft compelling and actionable strategies, meeting and workshop development, management and facilitation, storytelling, writing and presentation development, ideation and concept development, stakeholder interviewing and relationship development, insights development and data analysis
  • Comfort with ambiguity, able to diagnose a situation and define a plan of action
  • Warm and empathetic, with the gravitas to lead by influence
  • Credible, with the ability to supportively challenge our clients and colleagues, helping them change how they think and how their business operates
  • A commercial mindset, comfortable supporting new business efforts, using your entrepreneurial skills and strategic thinking to help the agency grow its business and capabilities
  • An outstanding communicator and storyteller, both in speaking and writing.
  • Experience in identifying and responding to business opportunities, writing proposals, pitching and presenting work to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Have delivered compelling, innovative, high-quality, crafted experiences that balance business and customer need.
  • Proven research and validation experience which you draw on to inform your solutions
  • Experience of developing and articulating well informed design opinions based on research, data and insights.
  • Able to demonstrate work that has had commercial success
