Lead Service Designer

We are now looking for a Lead Service Designer to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this. As a Lead Service Designer, your job will be to work with skilled multi-disciplinary teams to design, prototype and build excellent public services. You will create multi-channel services that are user-centred, equitable, sustainable and accessible, that are simple enough for everyone to use across any device, browser or platform.

Our Lead Service Designer:

As part of this role, you will help identify and fix some of the toughest problems in public infrastructure with a main focus on the design of services at scale. You will help HM Land Registry to transform the way it delivers services, so that they’re more efficient, simpler, faster and easier to use.

In line with current government guidance, the role will initially be home based so an induction and training will be carried out remotely, with full support from the team.

What we’re looking for in our Lead Service Designer:

• Relevant work experience
• A degree or further education in a related discipline, including interaction, service and digital design
• Experience of leading design work across a product/service lifecycle
• The ability to demonstrate your experience of working within given constraints and that you are able to challenge constraints that can be changed
• Experience of leading a team of designers and of setting direction of UCD work in a project or programme, including managing complex design projects and timelines
• Experience of understanding users and the difference between user-needs and user-wants, and have worked on projects where you had to drive and promote a user centred approach
• A community focused mindset and you are able to effectively articulate design decisions and direction to stakeholders
• Experience of delivering work to large groups of stakeholders is essential
