As a Service Designer, you will design accessible, high-quality digital services, ensuring that user needs and business requirements have been considered throughout and will be achieved by the service.

You will design the end-to-end journey of a service, including all transactions and products across both digital and offline elements. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver user-centred services for our users.

Your role will also involve:
– Working with teams and senior leaders to ensure a seamless user journey across multiple products and services
– Creating and rapidly iterating service prototypes and mock-ups to explain to teams and stakeholders how the service will (or could) work
– Giving and receiving constructive feedback and willingly learn from mistakes
– Identifying ways to improve services and user journeys by simplifying complex experiences and improving content
– Collaborating with technical and security teams to understand what needs to be built to deliver the service
– Validating the outcomes of design, to ensure they meet operational, technical, architectural, service support and user needs. Flag any potential service design risks and escalate them as appropriate
– Communicating the benefits of user-centred design across organisational boundaries and support stakeholders in understanding UX design principles and goals

About You
To be considered as our Service Designer, you will need:
– A proven track record of service design, including working on Digital Services from concept to final delivery
– Knowledge of what good end-to-end services look like and how to design in an inclusive, accessible way
– Ability to listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them in a way that is clear for both audiences
– Experience of working collaboratively in a dynamic agile environment with user researchers, designers, developers and business analysts to understand and meet user needs
– Experience in creating static HTML and CSS prototypes, coding for different screen sizes, versioning and hosting a prototype
– Experience in working on online transactional services

Experience of using Government Digital Service Standards and Service manual would be desirable.
