Admiral is seeking a pioneering Service Designer and Researcher to spearhead the establishment of our cutting-edge service design practice. This role offers a unique opportunity to conduct extensive user research and deliver user-centred services for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the establishment of the service design function at Admiral, defining innovative processes and best practices to drive impactful outcomes.
- Take charge of strategic service planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs through comprehensive research methodologies.
- Develop clear service goals using advanced service mapping techniques, value propositions, and detailed blueprints.
- Champion solutions to address organisational challenges, drawing on extensive research and analysis.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other insight teams, integrating live data into service design artefacts to enrich user experiences.
- Facilitate collaborative workshops, leveraging research insights to guide teams towards consensus and effective decision-making.
- Drive the development of cutting-edge concepts and proposals for new services or enhancements grounded in robust research findings.
- Transform complex information and processes into visually compelling and readily understandable representations.
- Conduct rigorous independent research involving customers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to inform every stage of the design process.
- Create persuasive presentations and reports to effectively communicate research insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Hold a degree in a relevant discipline or have equivalent industry experience.
- A degree, Master’s, or PhD in one or more of the following is preferred: Human-Centred Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, Psychology, Social Anthropology, Digital Anthropology
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Lead/Senior Service Designer/Researcher.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
- Expertise in tools to produce outputs such as Service Blueprints
- Experience with generative user research techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for collaboration and working effectively across disciplines.
- Experience in a regulated industry (a plus, but not essential).
