Senior Service Designer

Full Time

Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport

As a senior service designer at the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), you are committed to improving customer experience and optimizing service processes in an environment where courage and initiative are central. You work on various, challenging issues and develop practical, well-considered designs that really make an impact. Through your efforts, you contribute in a demand-driven manner to effective supervision and better execution of our tasks. Do you want to use your expertise to increase the social impact of our work? Then you are the professional we are looking for! Read on quickly and apply immediately!

How you contribute in your role

As a senior service designer, you play a crucial role in realizing our ambition: protecting people and the environment in a sustainable and flexible way. You work with colleagues to strengthen our development capacity and translate our strategic vision into concrete interventions that promote leadership and collaboration. In this way, you contribute to the design of efficient and future-proof supervision and licensing.

Our issues cover operational, strategic and tactical levels. For example, we recently completed a project within Small Aviation, where we contribute relatively simple products – such as a mirror with visual safety checks – to safer aviation. This simple tool reminds pilots of the crucial safety checks before boarding. This is just one of the 160 subjects that the ILT supervises and gives an idea of the wealth of subjects to which you can contribute.

In your role, you will conduct thorough research, co-create solutions with implementation teams, and facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions. You will gain valuable insights and apply methodologies such as journey mapping, service blueprints, and prototyping. In addition, you will conduct intakes with clients, visit conferences, or, depending on the context, go on an observation with an inspector. Your work is versatile and dynamic, and you will contribute to the organization at various levels.

This is what gives you satisfaction

You get energy from using your design experience, connecting qualities and talent for facilitating and coordinating transitions. You prefer to do this in an environment where you can share and transfer your knowledge, and where you are given the space to stimulate both personal and professional growth. In the transition of our department, you also contribute to the construction of a renewed expertise center for organizational development, in which service design plays an essential role.

You are fascinated by discovering the real needs, desires and behaviors of users, and enjoy working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Preferably, you do this in an environment where you can use your creativity and ingenuity to develop new, valuable services. You want to take the next step in your career and use your expertise to make a social impact. The realization that your work brings about tangible, meaningful changes is the most important driving force for you.
