Senior Service Designer

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the Role 

In this role you will work across a wide range of complex projects within the food & beverage team including direction setting, planning, reporting, resourcing and co-ordination of other staff. It is also hoped that the Service Designer will also coach and mentor staff in order to grow service design capability within New Zealand Food Safety.

You will encounter exciting opportunities, providing you the platform to interact with food businesses, industry representatives and other agencies in the regulatory system, to decipher and best use insights for key pieces of work and to deliver the organisational goals.

This is a great opportunity to develop strategy and apply human-centred design concepts to implement improvements and add value to both Food Regulation directorate and across the Ministry for Primary Industries.

Mōu – About You

We are looking for a vibrant Service Designer who can work across multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve varied business goals.

In addition, we are looking for someone that:

• Has a tertiary Design qualification and/or minimum equivalent experience such as Service Design experience/qualifications
• Has a proven experience in design and implementation of customer data and insights capture for use in service design improvements
• Can capturing/understanding user requirements and articulating these to the right people within and outside the ministry
• Has experience analysing complex data and providing high quality advice to key members of the business
• Has experience working with ‘clients’ – including identifying and satisfying their needs and managing their expectations.
