Service Designer (Full-time)

100% Remote until further notice

Job Description

Service design is focused on the organization and planning of people and communication in order to create optimal service quality. However, at the heart of both product and service design is the desire to create the best possible user experience.

The Service Designer at HUME will be responsible for qualitative and quantitative (primarily qualitative) user research, synthesis, concepts, prototyping, design, storytelling, project management, and obtaining the success metrics for multiple projects with diverse stakeholder groups. You will contribute to delivering services that will positively impact people and bring value to the client’s business.

To ensure safety from Covid-19, this job will be remote – until further notice and except for certain occasions that require to meet (client or team meetings). If you want to join an exciting team we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage human-centered design to rapidly research, design, and prototype new digital, physical, and service experiences across HUME projects
  • Collaborate, report, and work closely with the Design Director on scoping, planning, and designing projects. In the case of digital solutions, collaborate with Product Designers to define viable service experiences.
  • Perform User Research draft, plan and conduct User Research (ethnographic studies, qualitative/quantitative analysis, synthesizing) to define untapped opportunities
  • Plan and execute co-creation workshops with stakeholders in order to propose the most viable solution for a given problem. Use the available resources to prototype services in order to validate ideas and iterate on it.
  • Design the User Journey Map to identify problems, pain points, and issues that need to be addressed in a given service.
  • Develop Design Solutions  Ideate and support experiences through the lens of UX & CX; considering business strategies and overall customer experience, to reach success. Provide tactical executions in support of digital initiatives, spanning multiple channels; providing artifacts as Service Blueprints, User Flow/Journey recommendations tested prototypes.
  • Creating Final reports with insights and design solutions to be delivered to the client. (if needed) create low fidelity wireframes prototypes (via Miro or Figma) to showcase recommendations.
  • Advocate for the end-user and human-centered design practice, while ensuring business goals are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of diverse design experience
  • Experience in off-line and digital services such as web, app, products, etc
  • A professional portfolio of work showing experience creating user-centered designs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills required.
  • Possess a desire to create a positive impact through designing experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis on UX, CX, UCD, IxD, and/or equivalent experience.

Nice to have:

  • Experience and/or familiarity with similar software/platform titles as: Hotjar, Marvel, Miro)
  • Optimist, curious, and possess a can-do attitude for complex problems!
