Service Designer

As a member of the FOR team you will work closely with our multidisciplinary teams and contribute towards building outstanding products and services. In this position you work closely with engineers, strategists, and designers to determine key questions, identify user needs, and deliver actionable insights.

You are responsible for running qualitative and quantitative research studies, including planning, execution, analysis and synthesis, and communicating findings. You’ll apply different service design methods from research, ideation, prototyping, and facilitation. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years industry experience across a wide range of research and service design methodologies, with deep expertise in 1 or 2 areas.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for creating and refining the user journey across the different customer segments
• In close collaboration with the Product Owner you refine and shape new product developments which provide an outstanding customer experience
• Plan, design, schedule and conduct in-person and remote, qualitative and/or quantitative user research studies
• Analyze findings and deliver actionable insights; lead co-analysis and synthesis sessions with respective team members from Design, Engineering, and others
• Work with the senior leaders to advise on appropriate user research methods based on project goals, and help create and maintain project schedules
• Transfer of business requirements and user needs into conceptual-creative ideas and functional solutions
• Prepare research findings deliverables such as reports, presentations, video highlights, storyboards, use cases, personas, user journeys etc. as appropriate

Essential skills/attributes/experiences we need for this role

• BA/BS or MA/MS in Psychology, Sociology, Service Design, or related field
• At least 2 years experience in Service Design in the field of business innovation
• Proven knowledge and experience with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with experience in applied research for product design (i.e. not solely academia)
• Excellent observational skills, analytical skills and critical thinking
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• You can work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
• Be willing to get creative with and experiment with alternative research methods
• Comfortable with ambiguity and love creative problem-solving

Ideally you possess the following skills/attributes/experiences (but it’s ok if you don’t)

• Have a solid understanding of basic UX design principles or you having worked in capacity of UX/UI/Product designer previously
• Experience working with or willingness to learn remote user testing tools
• Have experience designing and analyzing large-scale surveys
• Strong project management, documentation and organization skills
