Service Designer

Full Time

Carealytix

You LOVE service design, but are hoping that your daily work has a bigger direct impact on improving people’s lives? We are hiring a Service Designer for taking our chronic care platform to the next level. In this role, you will be a major contributor to our mission to significantly reduce hospitalizations and extend the life of our users, people living with chronic kidney disease.

Until now at Carealytix, we were 100% focused on building digital health applications, especially our companion app Mizu that supports people living with chronic kidney disease. We believe that we have done that quite well. Only 3 years in, we have established ourselves as the leading nephrologic companion app in Europe. Now, we are ready to delve from software-only into hybrid offerings that will perspectively include face-to-face, telemedicine, remote care and a multitude of service touchpoints across the entire continuum of care.

In your new role, you will be working on a daily basis with people on dialysis, kidney transplant recipients, as well as nurses and physicians to create a tech-enabled care offering everyone will love. On the other side, you will work closely together with our product and tech teams to prioritize needs and requirements, and funnel everything towards a maximally satisfying user/patient experience. You will take ownership of iteratively refining, testing and improving at all stages of creation to optimize healthcare processes.

This is a rare opportunity to shape something awesome as part of an enthusiastic team to help people with chronic conditions master their lives in the best possible way!

What we are working on

Carealytix is creating the next generation platform for chronic care in nephrology. Our product development portfolio ranges from classic mobile app development to EHR integration, IoT device integration and exciting research partnerships with universities, e.g., in Digital Therapeutics.

We are currently working on building new features and integrations for Mizu our app for people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Together with our doctors and developers, we are focussing on releasing exciting new features with clear benefits for doctors and patients. On top of that, we are now delving into remote care setups that will involve service elements components and in-person interactions at their very core. In doing so, we are getting one step closer to realizing our long-term vision of providing every person living with a chronic condition with the best possible, personalized care.

Working with us

  • Take ownership of end-to-end service design at Carealytix (concept, design, implementation, delivery, evaluation, iterations) in a small, growing, and motivated team, where everyone loves our mission and what we are doing
  • Take on the challenge of developing offerings for a slightly unconventional digital user group
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product managers and engineers to ensure seamless integration of service design principles into digital interfaces and products.
  • Work in healthcare, directly with physicians, nurses, and patients on building maximally user-centric, yet medical-grade software products

What will you be working on

  1. Service Design will play a major part for us going forward. Together with users, our product and tech team and our doctors, you will delve into creating healthcare experiences that users love
  2. You will build a service offering from the ground up, translating problem statements and into service touchpoints in a functional, tech-enabled operating model
  3. You will have the chance to delve into continuous improvements of the user experience by nerding out on data-driven insights from analytics
  4. Together with the rest of the core team, you will prioritize features on our roadmap in an iterative service buildup

At the end of the day, we are a fast-growing, small company. This means that depending on your prior experience, growth curve, talents and passion, you will very be able to expand your responsibilities and take ownership on a daily basis. There is ample opportunity to realize your full potential and grow in your personal and professional career.

What we are looking for

  • Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Service Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field and 3+ years of working experience as a Service Designer
  • Strong understanding of service design principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., user research, journey mapping, service blueprinting, prototyping) in both conceptual setups as well as deployed operating models
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing to gather insights and validate design decisions
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Passion for crafting and delivering high-quality, memorable experiences that make the lives of people living with chronic conditions easier
  • Fluency in English AND German (C1) is required for this role

Additionally, you’ll connect bonus points for:

  • Experience with service design in healthcare, in particular hybrid care models that intertwine software and in-person interactions
  • Understanding of process-driven software development
