POSITION SUMMARY

Disco Innovation Studio is looking for a human-centred Service Designer who believes that understanding and applying the motivations and behaviors of people leads to better, smarter, and stronger user experiences. Part strategic thinker and part design nerd, our ideal candidate will pair their passion for creating engaging visual communication, with an innate knack for infusing depth and nuance into planning the end-to-end journey of a product. A team-player who thrives in a creative and collaborative environment, our Service Designer will feel just as comfortable talking clients through the design process and facilitating workshops, as they do mapping user journeys and experiences or imagining solutions to the toughest challenges. This role will have immediate impact, help us push the envelope in user experience design, and play an active role in our company’s growth story.

Our team at Disco Innovation Studio believes that intentionally infusing balance and inspiration into our workday is essential for us to be able to do our best work. A day in the life with us at the KWENCH office might have you starting your day conducting user research and delivering a mid-morning workshop, jumping into a lunchtime fitness class at the on-site KWENCH studio, grabbing an iced coffee at the cafe downstairs, then diving into an afternoon strategy session to develop a client’s service journey map. Working remotely? Feel confident that you’ll be encouraged to take a quick yoga break between meetings and include your furry family members on our team calls.

We work in an inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone is treated with respect. In all the work that we do, we strive to bring equity and inclusion in our recommendations, designs, and behaviours. For this position, it is important that the candidate also align with these values.
