Senior Service Designer

About the role:
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) is seeking a Senior Service Designer to provide service design expertise and support to projects and initiatives in our growing First Nations Services directorate.

Based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country, this is a newly created position that leads the design and development of VLA’s services to First Nations people and communities. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, specifically First Nations employees and community-controlled organisations, in designing, delivering and reviewing practices to better embed a First Nations perspective on all aspects of our work.

About you:

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with First Nations communities, including an understanding of cultural norms, communication styles and complex issues experienced by First Nations people.
• Strong project management skills and experience managing end-to-end service design, including the generation of journey maps, service blueprints and use of appropriate research methodologies and ethical frameworks.
• Highly developed communication, change management and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, influence, communicate and consult with a diverse stakeholder group.
