Service Designer

We are looking for a passionate changemaker to join Local Peoples’ multidisciplinary team that will be supporting this exciting project in transforming the Australian Aged Care System.
Overview of particulars:
- Contribute to highly complex, ICT projects through agile delivery and governance.
- Australian Citizen
- Baseline Clearance, or the ability to get it.
- Based in Woden, ACT
The Project:
The Australian Aged Care system has evolved over the last several years and there is a significant program of future and ongoing improvements to ensure access to person-centred high quality aged care services.
The Department of Health needs to ensure the continued alignment of aged care improvements with the Government’s strategic agenda and sector feedback.
The key elements include:
- Quality policy and implementation including:
- Developing and implementing a residential aged care Star Rating System on My Aged Care
- Introducing new residential Aged Care Quality Indicators and expanding Quality Indicators to include in-home aged care services
Regulatory policy and systems design and implementation including:
- Reviewing and strengthening the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Strengthening aged care provider governance accountabilities
- Developing and implementing National Care and Support Working Regulation policy and systems
- Extending the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) to in-home aged care services
- Expanding the Risk Based Targeting and Information Sharing (RBTIS) program for prudential reporting and in-home aged care services.
About you:
Based on insights from user research and project objectives, as a Service Designer within the Department of Health, you will map current and future service environments. This will take place within a broader program environment where multiple interdependencies exist.
You will be comfortable:
- Applying a human-centered, holistic approach to service delivery, aligning user, business, and technology needs.
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The Skills and Experience we’re looking for:
- Experience creating journey maps, service blueprints, service models, and clearly articulating actionable insights and opportunities for service and experience improvement.
- Experience in identifying and leading improvements to existing services as well as introducing innovative and industry-first service experiences through planning, conducting, analysing, and making recommendations on emerging trends.
- Work in an iterative manner with developers and designers to deliver digital services in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with product/interaction design, ideally through examples or a portfolio.
- Extensive experience converting visions and requirements into low- and medium-fidelity prototypes.
