About the role
The Service Designer is responsible for supporting the design and delivery of complex service and system design work in a collaborative and agile way to support the government’s 100 Public Preschools commitment and wider early childcare education reforms. In this role, you’ll work with colleagues and project teams to help shape service and system designs, support project delivery and contribute to improvements in tight timeframes.

About you
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in in applying human-centred design methodologies and practice – including user research, qualitative synthesis, prototyping and facilitation.
- Have stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience supporting and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional environments and contributing/supporting to strategic design direction across programs of work.
Essential requirements of the role
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Key knowledge and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
