Senior Service Designer

NSW Department of Communities and Justice
The Senior Service Designer leads the end-to-end creation of customer-focused digital services for the NSW Courts and Tribunal. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for guiding each product from discovery and framing through concept development, prototyping, and iterative delivery. the Senior Service Designer ensures that digital solutions consistently deliver outstanding value.
What you’ll do
As part of the Digital Case File (DCF) Program team in Digital Priorities, Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery, you will evaluate end to end user experiences, support and provide expert advice in the creation of service system models, support the implementation of service improvements whilst partnering with remote and multidisciplinary teams made up of product managers, business analysts, UX/UI designers, solution architects and developers.
You will also have knowledge and experience in:
- Human centred service design in the public service sector.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Experience contributing to or establishing design systems and service standards.
What we’re looking for
- Strong skills in journey mapping, service blueprints, co-design workshops, and prototyping
- Experience in conducting qualitative research and synthesizing insights into actionable design outcomes.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in using design and collaboration tools (e.g., Miro, Figma, Adobe XD, Lucidchart, etc.).
- Tertiary qualifications and/or industry experience in user experience or related fields.
