We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Service Designer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and improve the delivery of services within the public sector, with a focus on projects in Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of service design principles, extensive experience in government projects, and a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes.
This role will work internally in our Wongdoody Unit, a little bit about the Unit is as below:

Job Location: Canberra, Melbourne, or Sydney
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the end-to-end service design process, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure a human-centered and user-centric approach.
- Assist in conducting user research using various methodologies such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights into user behaviours, needs, and pain points.
- Support the development of service design strategies, customer journey maps, service blueprints, and other relevant artifacts to communicate design concepts and solutions effectively.
- Participate in workshops and co-design sessions with stakeholders to gather input, validate ideas, and facilitate collaboration.
- Create prototypes and wireframes to visualize and test service concepts and user experiences.
- Provide support and guidance to junior service designers, contributing to their growth and development within the team.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance service design methodologies and approaches.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in service design, with exposure to government projects or larger organizations being advantageous.
- Australian citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain or possess baseline clearance is preferred.
- Experience in contributing to service design projects, including user research, prototyping, and implementation.
- Familiarity with service design tools and methodologies, such as customer journey mapping, service blueprints, and design thinking.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate complex information into actionable insights and design solutions.
- Experience in participating in workshops and co-design sessions to foster collaboration and contribute to ideation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
- A portfolio showcasing previous service design projects and deliverables is highly desirable.
