Service Designer

We’re looking for a senior Service Designer to re‑imagine employee journeys across Westpac, helping shape how tens of thousands of people experience work, so they can deliver their best for customers. You’ll sit in People Services, working end‑to‑end across the employee lifecycle as we modernise people journeys, including what great service design looks like in an AI‑enabled world. This is a hands‑on role: understanding real problems, running workshops, redesigning services, and influencing human‑centred experience improvements at scale. You’ll operate in real‑world conditions, influence senior stakeholders, and help build service design capability within the People function.
The role is Sydney‑based and requires regular on‑site collaboration.
- Service design experience as your primary career focus
- Strong capability in end‑to‑end service design and systems thinking
- Experience running workshops and co‑design sessions
- Ability to translate research into clear, usable services and recommendations
- Confidence presenting to and influencing senior leaders
- A pragmatic approach — comfortable working without perfect conditions
- Sydney‑based and able to work on‑site twice weekly, or when needed
- Nice to have: experience in people services, HR environments, or technology‑led change (UI/UX)
